Hi there!
Let me introduce myself.
My name is Julia Kauppinen, I am a twenty three-year old UX / UI designer and with a Communication and Multimedia Design diploma under my belt I have stepped into the world of the working. Being raised internationally and being passionate about the English language in general, I took Cambridge English classes for four years in high school that resulted in two Cambridge certificates, including the Cambridge Advanced English certificate.
I started working as a UX/UI designer during my studies in 2020 and have been gaining experience in the field ever since. In the past years I have gained additional useful knowledge by taking up responsibilities such as managing projects, having client contact, planning the development sprints, assisting with marketing as well as leading client meetings. I have had the chance to help many different companies create and/or optimize their website, app or system.
My idea of a great design
My idea?
It lies in the perfect balance between a user-centered approach and appealing visuals. The better I understand the target audience, the better the end result. Therefore I am a big fan of research; data doesn't lie.
My goal as a UX/UI-designer
My goal?
To design well thought-out applications so they are user friendly and will be used suitably. I like to follow up my work by staying involved in the project. Only after looking at the data I can determine whether we have actually realized our goals. After all: a happy end user is a happy client.
Qualities aside from UX / UI design
What I bring to the table.
Front-end development
My reason for learning code is partly so I can continue coding websites like this portfolio. Besides that, my front-end knowledge has proven to be important in communicating with developers. I speak their language, I understand possible technological limitations and I can come up with suitable solutions.
Project management
Because of my time-management and communicative skills I am able to manage projects in a streamlined manner. Aligning the team’s and client’s expectations is important, as is keeping everyone up-to-date to eliminate unwanted surprises. From multiple clients I have heard that they were pleasantly surprised by this skill of mine.
